Whether you wear a cardi and blue stockings, designer labels, or wellies and woolly hat, have a Nobel Prize, Oscar or an accolade from the local flower and produce show; be proud, value your achievements, stand-up for who you are and use the F word in support of the women and girls throughout the world who can’t make the choice.

“Remember always that you not only have the right to be an individual, you have an obligation to be one.”
Eleanor Roosevelt

  1. What a great team the Roosevelts were. He would not have been the president he was without Eleanor, nor would his administration achievement as much. My dream is that one day there will be an M-word for the movement to liberate men from the various cultural stereotypes and prejudices that impose limits and demands on who they are, what they can do, and who they can make relationships with. I dream of a day when Masculine and Feminine are names for the notional sides of a spectrum, analogous, and that there is an acceptance that each individual may express qualities from either side of neutral, and that is a good thing for gender relations.

  2. Stereotyping leads to all sorts of angst – far better just to choose our own paths and be who we want to be. But there again, we are fortunate to have that choice, unlike those women (and men) who don’t – thanks for continuing to draw International Women’s Day to our attention.
